Coronavirus update as of March 19, 2020:

In common with all places of communal activity, Over Haddon Village Hall Management Committee has looked at the developing coronavirus pandemic situation and decided to close the village hall for the foreseeable future.

Everyone involved with clubs and groups that meet regularly in the hall is aware of the situation and fully in agreement that for now the hall should remain closed.
The management committee, while recognising that this needs to happen from a public health and safety point of view, is sad at the loss of a much-loved facility for the time being.
But it is buoyed by the positive messages of support that have come from people who are looking forward to the time when we will be able to re-open and once again offer our usual selection of events and activities.
May we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the village hall and look forward to seeing you all there again in the not-too-distant future.
In the meantime, keep healthy and don’t forget to keep an eye out for your neighbours.

A fantastic turnout for our “Jazz in the Village” event

Dominic Spencer, left, and Ian Millar, right, performing at Over Haddon Village Hall.

We were really excited to welcome Ian Millar (saxophone) and Dominic Spencer (piano), a jazz duo from Scotland, to our village hall on Friday, November 22, for “Jazz in the Village”.

Based in Edinburgh, the duo has regularly and extensively toured the UK. They have embarked on many rural tours under their “Jazz in the Village” series, playing in hundreds of halls and often bringing jazz for the first time to remote communities. They frequently perform in intimate settings to appreciative audiences and the beautiful Scottish scenery that they have seen on their travels has inspired the writing of many pieces of music by Ian.

More than 40 people turned out to our village hall to watch the pair perform and there was high praise all round for an entertaining evening. So thanks once again to Ian and Dom for coming to our village hall!

Plenty of entries submitted for the annual Over Haddon Village Show

Some of the entries submitted for the 2019 Over Haddon Village Show

Hundreds of examples of fine fruit, vegetables, flowers, cakes and photographs were entered into the 2019 Over Haddon Village Show.

A record-breaking number of entries were submitted to the event, which took place on September 7, with trophies, prizes and gift cards awarded to the winners of the different categories contested.

Visitors who came to see the produce on display then had the opportunity to bid for items they wanted in an auction, held to raise money for Over Haddon Village Hall.
